A single pivot point in the seat tube allows the entire rear end – chainstays, seat stays, seat tube, and even the rear part of the top tube – to flex in a controlled manner, like a chain of interconnected leaf springs. This compensates for shocks and vibrations without the weight and complexity of rear dampers or rockers and deflections.
